Martha Sue Crowley founded Charlotte Swim Academy 20 years ago when she was only 19 years old. With a degree in early childhood education, Martha Sue found she had a talent and passion for teaching young children. She also had a love for the water. Charlotte Swim Academy was the ideal marriage of both.
              
Charlotte Swim Academy opened it’s doors in 1991 and since that time has coached over 25,000 students to be successful swimmers. Many Swim Academy graduates have gone on to become college level competitive swimmers. But for Martha Sue, the true rewards of teaching come from seeing a child transform from fearful to joyful in the water, watching a natural confidence develop and knowing the positive impact that will have for years to come.
 
Martha Sue, now a mother of three, currently runs the business with her husband Gary Crowley. CSA is a family-owned and family-focused business. We feel privileged to serve hundreds of families in the greater Charlotte area and are now excited to see a second generation of swimmers coming through our doors!
